Appeals
Our firm has several litigators skilled in appellate practice. An adverse decision from a trial court can be appealed to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. There are four appellate districts in the state. Appellate practice involves intense research and preparation of written argument which is governed by strict timelines. Subsequent to a decision from the Court of Appeals, a matter may be pursued to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. This Court only takes very select cases and a review by the Supreme Court is not guaranteed. The appellate process is lengthy, in that, many cases will take years before they are finally decided by a higher court. If you are considering appealing an adverse decision of a trial court, it is imperative to contact counsel as soon as possible so that appropriate deadlines are met and your rights are preserved.
